Today in class 10.12

Today in our classroom we started working on Multiplication tables. The homework for tonight is a worksheet that students have in their homework folders. If you have any questions I will be checking the blog until about 9pm tonight.

Thanks,
Ms. McVey

  1. Ms. McVey,
I was trying to help Johnny on his homework and he isn't understanding a lot of it, do you think tomorrow you could send home extra worksheets with him for more practice? Thank you! -Lindsay Highberg (Johnny's mother)

  2. Tina is finding this work too easy. Is there anyway that you could provide her some more difficult work? Or even an after-school tutor that could work with her on more advanced material? Any information will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

  3. So far, I haven't introduced multiplication in a specific way, instead the class is working on developing their own approach. I was planning on building upon the students' chosen processes by instructing and introducing new techniques so they can find many strategies helpful.

Do you think with the subject of multiplication I should have simply introduced a standard proceedure from the beginning?

We should get together next week to collaborate and discuss our lesson plans for the week.

    Thanks!

  4. Hi, Ms. McVey. I need help with number 4. Is there an easier way to remember the multiplication tables for 9s? They are so hard.

    -Kasey, your student
